Astrid Nobel: review ‘Iland’

Benno Tutein Nolthenius wrote a review on Astrid Nobel’s work ‘Iland’ – currently part of the exhibition ‘Iland/Us’ – on galeries.nl

In the review Tutein  Nolthenius describes his personal connotations with the work ‘Iland’ and gates in general: hilly landscapes with grazing cattle that can’t run away, supporters that are separated from the soccer field, gates that are there to keep people out. Astrid Nobel’s work is of a completely different order, but is a symbol for borders. Most borders are only there on paper and for birds there are no borders at all.
